Players move around the playfield picking up monsters and moving them about so that they can be lined up with colorful bombs and blown up. Monster Pile can also be played in the solo Round Game where a single player, or two players working as a team, race against time and the lowering ceiling to survive as many rounds as they can. The rounds get harder as you progress, so it's a great way to sharpen your competition skills. A Monster Pile level editor is also available for free to anyone who is interested in creating their own original Round Game or Battle Mode levels.

Use your arrow keys to control your ship and jump into hyperspace (to avoid collisions) and use Ctrl to shoot. You can also use a joystick, but that requires a very delicate touch. Nice graphics and simple sound effects round out this remake of an old-time favorite.
